| The
Cambridgeshire Family History Society exists to encourage the study
of genealogy, family history and heraldry within the old counties of
Cambridgeshire and the Isle of Ely. Members live throughout the U.K.
and overseas. Although many local members have no ancestors from these
counties they use the Society as a forum for meeting fellow enthusiasts
and exchanging information of general genealogical interest.
The
Society holds monthly meetings, usually in Cambridge. The programme,
which includes lectures, informal discussions, project sessions, outings
and social events, caters both for beginners and more experienced genealogists.
A
quarterly Journal is published, usually in February, May, August and
November. It is free to members and includes members' interests and
a wide range of articles and news.
The
Society is involved in an active programme of project work which includes
the transcription and indexing of parish registers, census returns,
monumental inscriptions and other records.
Subscriptions are payable on joining and on 1st January annually
thereafter. To join the Society please complete the Application
